National Day to Discuss Drugs With Kids
PowerTalk 21, a national day for parents to talk with their children about alcohol and underage drinking, is set for April 21.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is offering a list of conversation starters, as well as a free parent handbook.
Parents can sign up and receive a free copy of MADD’s parent handbook for research-based guidance on starting conversations about alcohol with their teens.
Here’s how to get the handbook.
MADD needs assistance in coordinating the activities of PowerTalk 21.
The organization is asking volunteers to:
-- contact your local MADD office to invite a facilitator to your location for a parent workshop.
-- plan a parent workshop before prom or graduation.
-- become trained to facilitate parent workshops.
-- organize a WALK Like MADD® event to engage students and adults to support the mission.
-- donate to MADD.
